A story another lawyer told me the other day:
One of my clients told me that he was coming out of a store the other day where he had just gone inside for a few minutes. When he came out there was a traffic officer (called a traffic warden or police officer in some locations) writing a parking ticket. So my client went up to him and said, ‘Come on buddy, how about giving a guy a break?’
The officer ignored my client and continued writing the ticket. The my client called him a “stupid idiot.” The officer glared at my client and started writing another ticket for having bald tires!
Then my client started getting really angry. The officer finished the second ticket and put it on the car with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket!
This went on for about 20 minutes. The more my client abused the officer, the more tickets the officer wrote. However, the car belonged to someone else, not my client who was just visiting the neighborhood after taking the subway from Manhattan.
