December 1st, 2007 · No Comments

The Restorative Justice movement aims at reevaluating the criminal justice system and undertaking reforms to make justice not a punitive undertaking that views punishment through incarceration as the fundamental means to justice but one that sees more proactive approaches such as rehabilitation, transitional services, family support services, pre-trial services and fair representation of defendants in the criminal justice system as ways in which society will benefit from justice as a healing process.CURE-NY, a local New York State criminal justice organization run by Rudy Cyper, is currently conducting a letter writing campaign with NYS Coalition for Rehabilitation and Reentry (NYS CoRR) a coalition of 33 justice advocacy groups across New York State. Please consider writing to a New York State politicians in support of these reforms. I have been helping this organization by writing letters for approximately ten years. please consider helping this campaign also. Thank you.
